The environmental impact report of the company's annual treatment of 1.5 million tons of straw comprehensive utilization project was approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
On July 11, the Environmental Impact Report of our company's annual treatment of 1.5 million tons of straw comprehensive utilization project was approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The principle of approval agrees that our company shall carry out the project construction according to the nature, scale, location, production technology adopted and environmental protection countermeasures of the projects listed in the report, and puts forward the key work to be done in the project construction and operation.
The EIA approval of this project is of great significance to the development of our company. After more than ten years of painstaking research, our company has a number of international leading technological achievements and more than 160 patented technologies, forming a mature straw comprehensive utilization pulping and papermaking circular economy industrial chain. However, in the development path of the global paper industry based on wood pulp, the large-scale development of straw pulp papermaking is tantamount to a revolution, and its victory must rely on continuous technological innovation and significant production and operation performance. The EIA approval of this project affirmed the development model of our company from the perspective of the impact of the project on the environment. This will further enhance the confidence of financial institutions in our company's investment, increase the implementation of our company's "green credit" policy, and also help our company to actively promote the smooth implementation of straw comprehensive utilization projects in Jilin, Heilongjiang and other places.
The EIA approval of the project is of great significance to the transformation and structural adjustment of the paper industry in China. The traditional straw pulp paper pulp quality is not high, environmental protection is difficult to control, high water consumption, wood pulp paper and there is a high degree of dependence on wood pulp imports, therefore, China's paper industry has been facing fiber raw materials, water resources and environmental protection three major development bottlenecks. Our company's approval of the environmental assessment of the 1.5 million-ton straw comprehensive utilization project strongly proves the importance of the straw comprehensive utilization pulping and papermaking project to circular economy and environmental protection. Straw pulping and papermaking has embarked on a new way to realize industry transformation and structure adjustment.
The EIA approval of the project will provide a good technical demonstration for the implementation of straw comprehensive utilization in China. In July 2008, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Accelerating the Comprehensive Utilization of Crop Straw" (Guo Ban Fa No. 105) clearly stated that "actively develop the processing industry using straw as raw material. Encourage the use of cleaner production processes to produce non-wood pulp using straw as raw materials"; in February 2009, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture jointly issued the "Notice on Printing and Distributing the Guiding Opinions on the Preparation of Comprehensive Utilization Plans for Straw" (Development and Reform Ring Capital No. 378) also regards "adopting cleaner production processes and scientifically using straw to produce non-wood pulp and straw board" as the key technical support for comprehensive utilization of straw. The EIA approval of this project strongly proves that our company's straw comprehensive utilization technology is a pulping and papermaking technology that meets the requirements of cleaner production, and has important demonstration significance in the research and development and promotion of straw comprehensive utilization technology.
It is reported that the National Development and Reform Commission has entrusted the project "Project Application Report" to China International Engineering Consulting Corporation for consultation and evaluation, and experts will be organized to hold a project feasibility demonstration meeting later this month.
